A MURDERING SPREE

T’was a wet and windy night in Cavan.
Everyone’s fast asleep except Gavin.

He sat by the fire, sipping his tea,
And then he thought;
“A murdering spree!”

So upstairs he did creep,
And into Fiona’s room he did peep.
He chopped off her head
And cut off her toes.
Then he finished by eating her nose.

Fester was next,
With an axe to the head.
In a matter of seconds,
She was well and truly dead.

Then he moved on to poor oul’ Rob...
Smashing his brains in with his new fishing rod.

When he turned to murder Sue,
The only weapon near was her smelly old shoe.
So he hit her and hit her, until she was dead,
Then he turned to Fiona Doyle’s bed.

He beat her around with a big iron bar,
And stuffed her dead body in the boot of her car.

Next he moved on to cabin no. 2,
The fucker still carrying that smelly old shoe.

The first person he saw was Maria McGlynn.
He chopped her to bits and threw her in the bin.

On he moved to the bedroom next door,
Thinking to himself, “I’ve only four more!”

Sarah was dead now and Marie too!
Battered to death with a smelly old shoe!

All that was left, was Sandra and Paul,
He smashed both their heads off the bedroom wall.

That was them all,
Gavin could now sit back.
But who had he forgotten? He asked himself,
When a knife stuck in his back.

As he lay dying,
His brain trying to rack...
“Oh for fuck’s sake... It was baby Jack!”

April 1997

The first comic I did was Deadenders, back in 1992-1993.

Morphosis Death Machine came next in 1994, based on a tour with Dublin death metal band, Morphosis.

From 1994 to 1996, came A Few Good Friends.

It was 10 years before my next comic, The Tesco Chainsaw Massacre in 2005.

Finally, A Murdering Spree came out in March 2009, and is still available to buy in Forbidden Planet, Dublin, only €3!!!

DEADEND23 COMICS!

A Murdering Spree (2009)

A pencil sketch and the final inked version of page 1 of A Murdering Spree

A Murdering Spree was based on a poem by Marie Perry, a friend of mine who sadly died from cancer in 2008.  I began to draw A Murdering Spree in Marie's memory.  Marie had enjoyed some of the comics I had done before and I thought that she would have gotten a laugh out of seeing her poem as a comic.  I produced a number of copies of A Murdering Spree and brought some into Dublin's Forbidden Planet.  It is the first time I have ever publicly sold any of my comics.

The Tesco Chainsaw Massacre (2005)

The first page from The Tesco Chainsaw Massacre

The Tesco Chainsaw Massacre was based in the warehouse I worked in from 2001 until 2008.  I had been meaning to do a comic for a while, but it wasn't until 2005 that I was inspired with this stalk and slash story.

Both The Tesco Chainsaw Massacre and A Murdering Spree can be seen in full by clicking on Picture Gallery.
